Menu Ideas for Informal Gatherings

So once you are done setting a date and sending out invites, what should you cook?

Here is a series of combinations worth your while.

For a light meal, serve appetizers, savory sides and salads with some protein:

Appetizers:

Chaat hors d’oeuvres  for a spicy bite to get the taste buds tingling.

Egg Bruschetta or Pizza on Bread 

Snacky breads that can stand their own: 

Gram Flour Pancakes/ Besan ka Cheela with Paneer

Methi Thepla/ Fenugreek Flatbread– let people use these to make their own rolls or snack on them with assorted chutneys and dips.

Egg Rolls! You cannot go wrong with a wrap- these grab and go foods are great for an informal do.

Salads that can be entrees:

Vegetarian-

Fruit Salad  this light and airy salad can be paired with a variety of cheese, crackers and a side of tofu for protein.

Non- vegetarian-

One Pot Meals: Serve these stellar dishes with yogurt and a spicy chutney or pickle. 

For Eggetarians:   Herby Egg Rice

For Vegetarians: Lehsuni Palak Rice or a lip smacking Macaroni

For Non-vegetarians: Awadhi Chicken Biryani  or the Hyderabadi Chicken Biryani

Dessert: 

Trifle – serve it with hot chocolate sauce.
